This concert sets a romantic mood. Conductor James Lowe offers a preconcert talk at 6.45pm to introduce us to a personal insight into his music. The concert begins at 7pm in the beatiful Victoria rooms, Queens road.

Tchaikovsky’s Fantasy Overture to Romeo and Juliet traces the tragedy of the lovers, while Bernstein’s Westside Story is a big-city adaptation of this story. Bizet’s “Carmen Suite No 1" showcases highlights from the opera about the beautiful and fiery Gypsy. Khachaturian’s Spartacus Suite No. 2 is best known for the theme used in “The Onedin Line”.
