BBC Young Musician of the Year competition is undoubtedly Britain's most prestigious classical music event for young people.
St George is not new and niave to this award, having played host to present many previous winners, such as the likes of Natalie Clein, Nicola Benedetti, Emma Johnson and Steven Hough, names you may be well aware of.
All five 2008 competition finalists, a group of incredibly talented young people, will climb aboard the St George's stage . Among these great talents is Peter Moore, the 12 year old trombonist, the youngest winner in the 30 year history of the competition. Jadran Duncum takes over the stage with his guitar, Erdem Misirlioglu melts our hearts with the piano, Jim Molyneux shows us how its done with his skill on percussion, and David Smith blows us away with his flute.
Performing music ranges from popular classic favourites, to Jolivets evocative Chant de Linos. Prepare for a competitive play off, with exceptionally talented young people all trying to win your hearts, all showcasing their skills and ability and love for music, in this wonderful musical extravaganza
